CSV: Date, Amount, Payee, Description, Reference — extra columns like Balance or Account are used automatically. PDF: one or more bank statements — you'll get a chance to check the extracted lines before running checks. Drop all 12 months at once to review a full year.
No embedded text was found in this PDF — it looks like a scanned or photographed document rather than a digitally-generated statement.
OCR reads the page as an image rather than parsing real text, so it's noticeably slower and more error-prone — especially on skewed, marked-up, or low-quality scans. Double-check every row carefully in the table below once it finishes.
Extracted 0 line(s) from the PDF. The tool tries to detect debit vs. credit (from DR/CR labels, bracketed amounts, minus signs, or debit/credit column position) and signs amounts negative for debits — rows it couldn't determine confidently are marked Check in the Sign column. The least certain rows are sorted to the top and highlighted (missing date/amount/balance, or an unresolved sign) so they're the first thing you see — everything else stays in its original statement order below them. Please review dates/amounts/signs before running checks — edit any cell, or remove a row with the ✕. Use Add row for anything missed.

Getting your free API key
Google AI Studio is completely free for this purpose — no billing details or credit card required.
Open Google AI Studio
Click the button below (or type aistudio.google.com/apikey into your browser). Sign in with any Google account — a Gmail address works fine.
Create an API key
Click the blue "Create API key" button near the top of the page. You can leave all the options as they are and click "Create API key in new project".
Copy the key
A key beginning with AIza… will appear. Click "Copy" next to it.
Paste it into this tool
Go back here, paste the key into the AIza… box, and tick "Remember on this device" so you only need to do this once per computer.
Click "Summarise descriptions"
The tool will clean up any long or garbled descriptions automatically. It only sends the description text — no amounts, dates, or account details leave your browser.
Privacy note: description text is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Do not include sensitive personal data (e.g. NI numbers, passwords) in your transaction descriptions — standard payee names and references are fine.
